Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026 · Operated by Go Metal Roofs (the "Site")
This Privacy Policy explains what information Go Metal Roofs collects when you use gometalroofs.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.
Information we collect
- Information you submit — your name, email, phone, ZIP code, project notes, and any details you provide when requesting quotes, contacting us, signing up as a dealer, or applying as a manufacturer partner.
- Account information — for dealer accounts, we store your business name, service area, contact info, login email, and a salted password hash. We never store payment card numbers — billing is processed by Stripe.
- Automatic information — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location (when you grant permission to "Use my location" on the contractor map).
- Cookies and local storage — small files used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure aggregate site usage.
How we use information
- To match homeowners with certified metal roofing contractors in their area.
- To deliver quote requests, market reports, account notifications, and password resets to dealers.
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- To send transactional and marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by emailing [email protected].
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the service:
- With dealers in your area when you request a quote, so they can respond.
- With service providers that help us run the Site — including Amazon Web Services (hosting, email), Stripe (billing), and Cloudflare (DNS, security). These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Go Metal Roofs or others.
Your choices
- Access, correction, deletion — email [email protected] to access, correct, export, or delete your information. Dealers can also edit profile fields directly in the dealer portal.
- Marketing email — unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email.
- Cookies — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The Site will still work, but some features (like staying signed in) may not.
- California, EU, and other rights — residents of jurisdictions with additional privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, etc.) may exercise those rights by contacting us at the email above.
Data retention & security
We keep account and lead information for as long as the account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, salted bcrypt password hashing, and least-privilege access controls.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced on the Site or via email to affected accounts.
